I had Diane Mason of Weeks Law recommended to me by a close friend to help purchase my first house. After speaking with her on the phone on a Friday, she informed me she can easily by reached by email with any questions over the weekend. My three emails were blatantly ignored so I contacted her by phone again on Monday. I wanted to put on offer in on a place so I faxed a copy of the purchase contract in for her to review and that was the last I ever heard from Diane Mason
I've been involved with numerous real estate transactions throughout my adult life, and hired Weeks Law for my last home (newly built) purchase in Calgary. I felt that this firm did a poor job and I would not recommend them. There were a number things that went wrong, from the new home warranty, to being sued by the original builder for outstanding liens on the property. While these issues do happen from time to time, I think they could have been minimized with competent legal representation. The firm also had a very poor understanding of new home warranties in Alberta. Beware!
